Short Term Programs and Partnerships for Secondary School Students and a Teacher
For those not ready to leave home for a full year, groups of 5-25 students are welcome to visit a North American boarding school for programs lasting 1-3 weeks throughout the year.
Past short-term programs have included such subjects as ESL, Robotics, Debate, Conservation, Science, Aeronautics, and various sports such as golf or scuba diving. Students may speak excellent English but it is not required to participate. If your school or class is interested in working with a North American school in any of these or other fields, the Consortium would be pleased to arrange this.
Typically, a teacher or parent arranges the program together with Consortium staff and the North American school in question, and travels with the group as a leader and head liaison with the school. Students live in student residences, which ensure regular interaction with North American students.
Programs include academic as well as cultural activities both in the classroom, at the school, and on field trips.
Students may also participate in summer programs lasting 3-6 weeks at one of several boarding schools. The most popular summer programs are in ESL, but students may also attend summer programs in drama, music, art, sports, science, business, history, and many other subjects.
